SDP Projects - Work documents

Hello guys,

I'm working with Projects for quite a while now, on-premises as wel as SDP online. I'm struggling with related project work documents. A 'project document' is a document in one form or another that we edit and change ourselves that are related to the project.

'Work documents' in my case are:

Infrastructure designs that we receive, in all formats
Microsoft Project worksheets
Visio diagrams
Excel financial sheets
Network schema's

All in the most commonly used formats: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, PDF, AutoCAD, ...

Currently in SDP Online we can upload documents as attachments. This is doable, but cumbersome to use on a daily basis.

Is it not possible to extend the Project module with 'Work Documents', where we can drag and drop all these work documents, related to a certain project? From there we could open documents, work with them, and reupload them. Although it would be nice, versioning is not directly a requirement for us because if we download a document from the 'Work Documents' and change it, we save it as a new version, simply by changing it's filename (for example "Project Worksheet_001 becomes Project Worksheet 002, etc...)
