all my servers are hp proliant servers, under the product type they are classified as servers and not workstations but when i click on workstations i cannot find them under servers but they are listed as workstations (desktops in fact)

when i click on edit a particular hp proliant server under model section the drop down list is not filled out, when i click on the drop down list the proliant server type is not listed (but it does exist under products as product type server)

when i click on edit for a workstation, a dell desktop for instance it does not ask me about product name (it is not part of the inventory list but it shows model only (it also shows model under the servers)

is it by design that workstations (desktops/laptops) do not have the product name?

i have managed to have all the servers listed as server by going to the proliant product type, changing it from server to workstation (desktop) and then back to server, and now all the scanned server workstations are listed under the server section.

i think this is somehow an old database issue when i did the upgrade from v6 to v7. the fix is a bit idiotic but it works

i would appreciate it if someone could clarify the product name field for servers and if you also only have this listed for servers and not for workstations (currently i just both make them HP proliant DL36/80 G5 or G4
