1. Shut down ServiceDesk Plus Server.
2. Run the script UpdateManager.bat (UpdateManager.sh for Linux) in the <ServiceDesk_Plus_Home>/bin folder. This opens the Update Manager tool. 3. Click "Browse" to select the Service Pack file (AdventNet_ManageEngine_ServiceDesk_Plus_<Version No>_0_0_SP-x_0.ppm file that you had downloaded) and then click "Install...". 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to apply the Service Pack / Hotfix. 5. Once the upgrade is complete, start ServiceDesk Plus Server.
Precautions to be taken before installing the Service Pack :
a) Take a backup of the existing data and configuration in the production server. Install a new version of Version 5507 on a test server, restore the backed up data on this server, so that test server is an exact replica of the production server. ( Ensure that you have stopped fetching mails in the test server -- This is really important )
b) Install the Service Pack. Be patient, it may take around an hour for the upgrade. Once the upgrade on the test server is successful, you are ready to schedule the upgrade in your production server at your convenience.
c) Once done, before you login into Self Service Portal, it is recommended that you clear the browser cache and then supply your login credentials.
If it fails ( hope it shouldnt ), contact us @ 'support @ servicedeskplus dot com'. All upgrade issues will be given due priority based on the time it reaches the support.
