RHEL 5 Can't get data from SSH monitors

I'm running Opmanager build 8502 on WinXP. I'm trying to get cpu and memory usage stats from VMs running RHEL5.5. I have configured the SSH login details in the credentials and it sucessfully passes the test. But when testing the monitors it returns "the monitor did not respond to the test request". I can SSH to the VM and run the commands manually.
Has anyone got any ideas?
