Response to submitted forms hanging
For the past week I've been getting occasional reports of the SD+ system hanging up when people submit a form, whether it's creating an incident, updating a Problem, or whatever. I've seen this behavior myself a couple times. If you are just clicking around page to page it works fine, but sometimes you submit a form, and no response comes back. The system is taking the submission and creating or updating whatever the record is. However, the user doesn't know this, and sometimes will click the submit button again and again. This has resulted in numerous duplicate/redundant tickets being created, emails being sent, etc.
We are running on Windows 2008, with about 3.1GB of memory, about only half of which is Cached, and the other half Available (a very small amount Free). It's a virtual server is doing nothing but running helpdesk, and the load is very low most of the time. I can find no corresponding spikes in server activity with form submission, although I have not been able to catch it when the error is occuring. Rebooting the server seems to fix things, but within a day or so it might happen again. The only thing I can see that might be unusual is the Java.exe application is using about 230 MB, far more than any other process.
I update the system every week, on Build 9034, updating to 9035 tomorrow.
Has anyone seen this before, or have a clue as to how to troubleshoot this? I'm more of a Linux guy.
