Remote tool not working well for remote office computers

I have moved our MEDC server to a server at our main facility, and installed the distribution server at my facility. I followed the instructions to install the desktop client to several machines here where the distribution server is. Since that time it has been hard to connect or stay connected to machines. I am in the same building as these machines and in some cases on the same subnet. Is there an issue with the remote tool and clients listed under a remote office?
