Hi,

I'm trying to manage a remote office across a VPN using the direct method (no distribution server).  I've created the site and installed a client by running the .msi file I downloaded from the site page.

The installation seems to run fine, but the remote system doesn't show up in the Desktop Central Admin SOM site page.   When I check the dcServices and other log files, I see something similiar to these to messages: 

2009-09-21 15:36:43 InternetGetRequestEx :  Error in WinHttpSendRequest -> 12029
2009-09-21 15:36:43 HttpGetLastError: The attempt to connect to the server failed.

Can you help?
