Hello
We're using SDP On-Premise and have a custom pick list field in our service request form. This field uses the Reference Entity option to pull data from the Asset module. It works well in terms of usability — the user can easily select the correct asset, and we’ve also restricted it to allow only one selection, which is what we needed.
However, we’ve noticed that requests created this way don’t show up in the asset’s history.
If we use the standard “Asset(s)” field, the request is properly linked, and we can see it under the asset’s details in CMDB. But with the reference entity field, even though the user selects the asset, there’s no trace of the request on the asset side.
Let the user pick only one asset
But still ensure that the asset and the request are linked, so the request appears in the asset’s history
We tried using form rules and other tricks, but nothing seems to help with this. Is there a way to link the selected asset (via reference field) to the request properly? Or maybe some workaround to limit the standard “Asset(s)” field to a single asset?
Would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
Thanks!
