We are glad to release the latest version of RecoveryManager Plus build 6049.
- Two-factor authentication: Add an extra layer of security by requiring users to verify with a second authentication method to gain access to the product. RecoveryManager Plus provides the following modes of secondary authentication.
CAPTCHA: Now enable CAPTCHA image on the login page and protect against bot-based brute-force attacks.
- Email verification
- Google Authenticator
- Duo Security
- RADIUS Authentication
Block users: Temporarily block technicians from logging in to RecoveryManager Plus after a specified number of failed logon attempts within a certain period.
- Preventing Log4j vulnerabilities: The Log4j JAR files that were the cause of CVE-2021-44228, CVE-2021-45046, CVE-2021-45105, and CVE-2021-44832 vulnerabilities have been upgraded to the latest version (2.17.1).
- Granular permission assignment: Previously, when you added a Microsoft 365 tenant to RecoveryManager Plus, the account which was used to add tenant to the product will be provided site admin permissions to all the SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business sites in the tenant. Now, the account will only be provided site admin permissions for the sites that have been added to a backup schedule. The site admin permissions will also be automatically revoked if the site is removed from all backup schedules or if the tenant is deleted from the product.
Note: This feature will only take effect if you haven't added a SharePoint Online tenant to RecoveryManager Plus. If you have already added a SharePoint Online tenant to RecoveryManager Plus, you will have to manually remove site admin permissions for sites not included in any backup schedule by following the steps listed here.
