Rebuilt server not starting.
I am trying to build a test server for the upgrade to 7.5. I have taken the MSSQL 2005 production database from our network, and migrated it into our test lab. When I install our current version of ServiceDesk (7.019) and link it to this database, ServiceDesk doesn't start. It comes up with the spash screen, and never gets past the "Application Layer starting".
I have loaded the latest version of Java, and we are running this software on Server 2003 Standard. When I try to start the service from the cmd prompt with run.bat, Everything starts except for the AdventNetServiceDesk, which fails. The only thing that I can think of, is that the IP address of the production server is different, or maybe I am missing a requirement, but I get no error messages during install.
It should be as simple as installing the trial software, and pointing it to the copied database, correct? Or do I need to start with a blank database, and perform a restore from the application?
