Quick Recap: Features released in Applications Manager after version 10.0
ManageEngine Applications Manager had a bunch of features and enhancements added to it after Release 10.0. Here’s an abstract:
- Out-of-the-box monitoring support for the following monitors was introduced:
- Windows Azure
- VMware vFabric tc servers
- VMware vFabric RabbitMQ
- Cassandra Database Server
- MongoDB Server
- Redis Database Server
- Nginx Web Server
- JBoss monitoring was extended to support JBoss 7.0, with enhancements including JMS Queue, JMS Topics, web metrics, transaction details to the list of monitored parameters.
- Credential Manager was introduced to create/edit the various credentials like password/ snmp community, port, etc., for all type of monitors globally.
- The default database bundled with the product is PostgreSQL from Build 11000. However, our existing customers can continue using MySQL or migrate to Microsoft SQL Server.
- Web Transaction Monitoring was enhanced and rechristened as APM Insight, supported for Java, .NET and Ruby on Rails web transactions.
- Support for monitoring the validity and expiry dates of SSL Certificates was introduced.
- Support for monitoring Oracle JRockit JVM and IBM JVM in Java Runtime Monitor was introduced.
- Capacity planning reports for detailed capacity analysis of CPU, memory, network, disk utilization introduced.
- Cloud Starter Edition, a new edition that supports all private/public cloud and open source apps was introduced.
- Site24x7 was integrated with Applications Manager to monitor website performance, both from within the corporate LAN and from multiple locations outside the data center
- iPhone App for iOS-based devices and Mobile Web Client for other smartphones was introduced for comprehensive application monitoring on the go.
