Question regarding System Load monitoring on Linux
I am monitoring system load on one of my linux database servers and have a question on how the load average on my server correlates to the number of jobs shown in Applications Manager. The number of jobs under System load for jobs in one minute has a current value of 117 with a peak of 11,870. How does this correlate to my load average in top that show a value from 1.x to 20.x for the first of the three load average numbers? I'd like to set some thresholds to notify on, but am unsure what my threshold numbers should be.
