Hello forum,
We have a handful of clients that use DataSecurity Plus FileAudit, and I am a bit confused as to what the difference is between the two services. We generally only use the "FileAudit" module, and we want the service to automatically start up and gather data after a server reboot. What is the "correct" way to run FileAudit as a service?
When installing the program, I am pretty sure I automatically get the "ManageEngine DataSecurity Plus - DataEngine XNode" service. But I may be misremembering.
Looking at point 2.2 of the Datasecurity Plus
Quick Start Guide, there are two ways to install as a service:
1. Run the "Install as service" shortcut, which seems to run the "FAP.bat" script. This installs a service named "ManageEngine DataSecurity Plus". However, this service seems to not want to run at the same time as the "DataEngine XNode" service.
2. Run the "InstallNTService.bat" script, which doesn't seem to do anything. I am guessing this installs the "DataEngine XNode" service, but because it is already there, nothing happens.
Here are the two services installed at the same time:
