So I am trying to uninstall 9043 from our Debian server, go into the _uninst directory and try the uninstaller.bin and it tells me about no jre. So I search the forums, see a post from 2005 with the -console switch, and try "./uninstaller.bin -console" also to no avail..
The install is just PostgreSQL, so can I just delete all associated directories and be done with this? And can someone PLEASE correct the uninstall file to actually run from a command line instead of requiring java? Would be great to have an actual package that works as the entire documentation and website state. For instance MySQL support built-in, like both claim, an uninstaller that works and update the documentation to state that the uninstaller is GUI based, and maybe update the docs again to add the command line uninstaller switch, and then make that switch work.
We have really tried hard to make this product work for us and am still trying to move forward and see if this will work the way it's advertised. But having to go all the way back to build 8121 to get MySQL support built-in and do the 6 or so updates from there to get to 9043/9044 build is a monster hassle for any IT environment.
This really is becoming harder and harder to explain away issues to management.
