Problems with ASAM Install

Problems with ASAM Install

I've recently (last week) tried to install 7801 with ASAM and eventually had to back it out.  Here is the synopsis of what happend.
  • Downloaded 7801.exe
  • Confirmed we're running v7600
  • Shutdown the Netflow service
  • copied both data and mySql folders to another location (overlooked renaming the log folder)
  • ran the update manager and selected 7801
  • Update completed without problems
  • restarted Netflow service
  • logged into netflow and appeared to be operating normally w/the ASAM
  • Added some administrator level users
  • Eventually received call from long term Netflow user that data was missing
  • backed out the update 7801
  • copied old MySql and Data folders to original location
Now if I add new users to Netflow they cannot log in... get the message incorrect user id or password which leads me to believe there may be other problems with the DB.
