Problems adding Windows SBS 2003 R2 Monitor
Hi,
I can't add any kind of monitor for a Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2. I have tried trough both WMI and SNMP with no luck.
I have another server with Windows Server 2003 R2 and it works correctly. I have Applications Manager installed in both of them and with both installations I can monitor every computer/server on the net except the SBS Server.
The SBS includes an ISA Firewall but it's configured to allow every kind of connection between the servers (I have monitored communications between them while using AppManager and ISA doesn't deny any connection).
The problems are:
1) WMI:
From the SBS server AppManager I can add the monitor but it gives the next message: Error # Access denied*
* I have an spanish installation and I am translating the messages so they could not be correctly written.
From the 2003 server one I can't add the monitor because: Error # RPC server is not available
- I have tried with the Domain Administrator Account (including "domain\" in username).
- I have tried to connect to SBS server with Wbemtest from both servers: from the SBS one it works (without specifying any username/password), and from the other one it gives the same error (RPC server is not available) with code 0x800706ba.
- I have checked security settings with wmimgmt.msc for \root\cimv2 namespace and even tried to give all permissions to Everybody.
2) SNMP:
I can add the 2003 server monitor trough SNMP from the SBS server AppManager without problems but I can't add the SBS server monitor trough SNMP from any of AppManager installations: Error # SNMP Agent is not running on the system
SBS server didn't have SNMP installed so I did it (all the options from Add/Remove Windows Components -> Management and Monitoring Tools) and configured it exactly as the 2003 server one (public community, accept connections from any IP, ...) but it didn't work.
I have to resolve it immediately so I would thank any advice.
