Problem with inline graphics

We've received a number of tickets that come in and have boxes with red X's where the graphics should be, and when opening that ticket, we'll see one or more messages (one per graphic) that says:

An external application must be launched to handle cid: links. Requested link:

cid:960545021@15062006-22C8
Application: cid

If you were not expecting this request it may be an attempt to exploit a weakness in that other program. Cancel this request unless you are sure it is not malicious.

I'm not sure if this is a ServiceDesk processing error for in-line graphics in the mail, or if it's an Outlook issue with not sending out graphics properly.

In doing some research, it seems that it may have to do with Windows. When you copy/paste an image into a mail message, the image is temporarily stored on the local machine in a local directory for that user, and it is a link to this location that is sent along with the email. There are messages out on the net that seem to suggest that there is some outlook setting to correct this, but haven't dug down far in this.

However, I could be wrong, and it might be a processing error on SD+'s side.

Any clues?

Justin
