PitStop gets some facelift

This post is long time coming.  ManageEngine PitStop, a community where ManageEngine users, partners and the ManageEngine teams get to engage with each other, has been getting some makeover. Here is a quick tour to help you access the relevant information:

A little background before we proceed

This space has long been a medium that serves as an additional support channel. However, the original intent was to enable peer-to-peer engagement where we all get to discuss product know-hows, share some tales from the trenches, learn IT best practices, help chalk the product directions, and generally talk shop. All these have been happening organically and now we want to do a slight course correction and bring the focus back on engagement among peers. For what else will make your IT decisions easy than an endorsement from the peer group? So we have done a few changes to make it worth your while here..

What has changed

Gamification : The platform is gamified now with points, levels, labels. We'll be introducing badges very soon, a few at a time. Gamifying PitStop is one of the tiny ways in which we want to show our gratitude for the contributions you have been making to the community even as we work on providing solutions that help meet your IT management needs.

Scripts : We'll be providing scripts some of which are pluggable into products like ServiceDesk Plus, Desktop Central, and OpManager, while some others work independently..  You might want to add to the scripts database and earn brownie points as well :)

Marketplace :  Thanks to some of the ManageEngine partners, we now have a marketplace hosting apps over ManageEngine. Apps are available mostly for ServiceDesk Plus. We'll continue to add more apps that would help circumvent specific IT management needs.  Feel free to contribute to the marketplace either by raising app requirements or by building and hosting your own apps!

Kbase : The access to solutions across different ManageEngine products is now centralized. Whenever you hit road-blocks using our tools, do look up the base for solutions. If you find them, share with the peers who have similar requirements. If you don’t find answers to your questions, reach out to the community managers who will help source the answers from the teams concerned!

IT Glossary
: We are building a repository of IT terminology to make information access easier for the beginners. This is also an opportunity for those who have mastered the trade to contribute to the glossary!

Will soon be sharing more details on how you can engage with your peers and how the rewards and recognition program works. Happy to answer any questions you might have in the meantime! You can leave your questions as comments to this post.

Have a great weekend!
