Performance Issues with Remote Control

I looked for other forum posts on this and the only one I led to a dead link......
We are trying to use Desktop Central for remote support of our 8 branches, but the performance of Remote Control is really slow - terrible lag. There are a few machines that I use VNC and Logmein to access and the performance on these products is significantly better. Is there anything we can tweak to improve this? I would like to have Desktop Central be the single source solution for remote management.
