We consistently have web browsers taking a while to be patched because the application is open during the patching period. When patching office applications, I believe there is an additional pop up asking to close out of office applications. Can this be extended to include browsers such as firefox/chrome?

I wrote a PS script that will make an API call to check the workstation for any pending browser patches and prompt the user if it is okay to close their browsers before proceeding, but I have been unable to make this work correctly because I believe the patch process has already flagged the application as open before the script can close the browser.
