[Patch notes] - Suggestion

[Patch notes] - Suggestion

Hi,

A simple opinion from myself that I wanted to share, maybe this might be liked by more than me. I dont want to be intrusive in your work methods, but I notice that often the patch notes that are given with an update does not seem to reflect all the updates and fix that the patch brings.

I've updated some of my posts last week with the fix that I have seen since last update, but I dont remember seeing any of these in the patch notes. It would be really nice I think if every problem that is fixed in a patch would be written down on the note, simply because, (I speak for myself here, but I may not be alone) when I send an issue (or an idea/enhancement), I dont go back after every update to see if it is fixed, and since the stuff I called for didnt work well in the first place, I usually dont use it until it is fixed.

I'm not talking here about updating the forum posts, that would be awsome but much work to find every post that is fixed, but if say John fixes issue A (A small one, like a typo or something like that), like a few day after the release of the last patch on your dev version, he could write on a log that he did so. When the patch is to be released, wrap that log into the patch note, so one who is looking at the patch note will remember that he had issue with something, and it is now fixed. Sometimes I feel like the patch notes on Opmanager are written the day before the patch release, on a meeting room who goes like "Ok, what did we change/fix/added on that patch ? Oh I did this ! And me I did that... Ok anything else ? Hmm, Nothing else comes to my mind..."

This would bring at least 2 good point, first, Immediately when I make an update, I can see what has been corrected instead of having to find out by myself on a lucky day. Second, I might discover functionality to the product only based on what is fixed, si I might want to go see if Issue A is fixed, I might go like, "woah, it does this, lets go see !!!" and third, this is a more personnal bit, but I like to see why I waited for, and when I see a patch note that makes only 2 changes I feel sad, because many time we are answered that "It is in the roadmap" (Wich we never get to see... ;) ) and if I wait 4 months for those 2 change, I might feel like "Woah, they only did this ? 4 Months ? And these and these are not fixed yet ? What about all those things I wanted that are _on the roadmap_ ???" albeit there are probably many little fixes in the update, but I'm not given to see them.

Even if these are technical background fixes to the engine, it would be nice to know of these change, even if it was only mere description of the issue solved/changed/added.

Winamp Media player has the kind of patch note I'm talking about.

Thanks for reading, again this is a tought, anyone else wishes to see such patchnotes in opmanager ?
