Patch management for an air-gapped network
Hey all,
A friend recommended Desktop Central to me for managing OS patches in a lab I work at. We have about 5 workstations all with XP 64-bit that are on a network air-gapped from the outside world (can't hook them up to an Internet connection). However I have one administrative machine in the lab that is connected to an Internet connection. Now I can move that machine between the two networks (have to make a NIC change and cable swap), so what I wanted to do is set up DC to download the patches and then switch over to the private network and deploy the patches to the machines.
However so far it appears in order for the job to run, DC has to talk to both the machine it's going to deploy to and the Internet at the same time, which I can't set up.
So is there a way that I can have DC pull down the patches I need (based off a machine inventory) in one job and then deploy the patches in another job?
Thanks ahead of time,
CdtDelta
