Password sync Active Directory to RedHat Idm (IPA)

Hi, we're using the ADSelfService tool already and are evaluating the password synchronizer functionality. The source will be an Active Directory and the target system is Red Hat Idm(IPA) feature based on OpenLDAP. I'm unable to connect to the LDAP interface using the OpenLDAP connector that's available. It gives an error 'invalid username or password'. I'm 100% sure that username and password are correct since i'm able to use these credentials using an ldap browser, but also when i configure the available connector for 'HP UX Directory Server'. Have already tried to fully configure this connector and let a user reset his password after manually linking the account, but unfortunately changing the password is only succesfull for the active directory part.

Any suggestions on this topic? Do you have any experience using the OpenLDAP connector for IPA?
