Parent-Child relationships of monitors possible?

Here is the scenario:

I have a Linux server, running tomcat. We have a monitor on the server, another monitor for tomcat, and monitors on the URLs that are served by the tomcat server.

Can applications manager be configured so that the URLs are children of the tomcat process, and the tomcat process is child of the linux server? If the entire server is offline, I don't need alerts on each and every URL on the box. I looked for a way to associate the URLs with the tomcat monitor but didn't find any. What we are trying to avoid is a flood of alerts for a server that has many URLs, but only one tomcat or apache process.

Any suggestions?
