Dear Oputils,
I really thought i was going crazy. For a number of weeks now the rogue detection has been showing several mac addresses when devices connect to our network. But this hasnt always been displaying the switch port... or its ip address ... or both in some cases.
I thought - ok i probably have some routers or switches that i havent populated yet. I have been through our network with a fine tooth comb and every router, switch has been added. I cant see how adding a printer to the router list would assist in that really ?? (as per the suggesstion on the router table) however i have added the switches to the router table as advised.
Another question is - We are identifying wireless clients connecting to the network, and again it is not displaying the ip address or switch port or both in some cases. I thought - ok perhaps i need to add the wireless AP's to the router and to the switch port mapper. I have done this and still nothing.
Another question is - if we identify a rogue connecting through a wireless access point - how does the admin disable of the switch port work?
our routers are managed routers so we only have snmp access not cli.
struggling to understand some of these features properly
look forward to your reply
