OpMananager is not sending all traps as an emails
Hello.
My system consist of several Motorola Wireless controllers. To each controller there are houndreds of Access port Adopted. OpManager is configure to sent a notification email when SNMP trap comes from Wireless controllers about Access Port Adopted or Unadopted. The problem is that OpManager not always sending e-mail when the SNMP trap comes. I made some tests to figure out how it works and where is the problem. I run wireshark on the Opmanager server ETH interface to see whether the trap came or not and then I reset couple Access Ports to get a specific trap messages. When I reset one Access Port, Wireless switch generates 2 messages (at the same time) about unadoption of radio 802.11a and 802.11bg and after approx 90sec next 2 messages about adoption (1 message per radio). So after performing a one Access Port reset I should get on my mailbox 4 emails. After reset 10 AP I got 40 messages on Wireshark and 40 messages in OpManager SNMP Trap log report but when I run a notification triggered report to see how many emails has been sent there was only 9 entries.
To sum up OpManager in a proper way register all SNMP Trap messages but it doesn’t send them in the same amount as an emails.
The solution for me could be not sending an email when a single trap messages came but to create a schedule report with the SNMP Trap log. But the problem is that this kind of report (all the reports) can be sent only once a day/week/month
Is it possible to automatic send a specific report for example every 2 hours?
In advance thank you for your help
