OpManager NetFlow Plug-In release - New features and MS SQL support

Hi,

We are happy to announce that NetFlow Plug-In for OpManager with some great new features like MSSQL support, CBQoS reporting capabilities and billing functionality has been released. Users interested in this version of the NetFlow Plug-In need to upgrade their OpManager BUILD to the latest version and then upgrade the NetFlow Plug-In to the new version.

CBQoS reporting allows users to track the Class Based QoS policies applied on your  devices for pre and post policy traffic usage and queuing, thus helping you validate your QoS policies and take informed decisions.

The billing functionality, with volume and speed based billing, lets you track department wise or interface wise bandwidth usage and bill your customers / projects for bandwidth usage as and when needed with customizable bill plans.

To upgrade your OpManager installation to the latest OpManager 8 BUILD #8022, please visit the following link and apply the service pack and hot fix by following the instructions:
http://www.manageengine.com/products/opmanager/service-packs.html

Before opting for SQL database for NetFlow Plug-In, please note the following:

1. NetFlow Plug-In (even with MySql database) cannot be installed on Linux.

2. NetFlow Plug-In uses the same database as your OpManager install and so you can opt for SQL database for NetFlow Plug-In only if your OpManager installation also uses SQL database.

3. It is not possible to migrate the data from your existing installation of NetFlow Plug-In to the MS SQL data base. As of now, only configuration migration is possible.

4. With MS SQL database, "automatic deletion of oldest raw data when free disk space goes below the user defined value" feature is not supported.

5. The "email alert when the free disk space goes below the user defined value" feature is not supported with MS SQL database.

If you are interested in the new features, please upgrade your OpManager install to the latest version and then send a mail to  support at netflowanalyzer dot com for the technical team to call and assist you with the NetFlow Plug-In upgrade.

Don Thomas Jacob
