Opmanager MSP: Northbound SNMP Traps/ Alarms log file
Hello Opmanager MSP Support,
I have a question about Opmanager MSP Northbound Notifications. I am currently thinking of running a trial of Opmanager MSP in our lab.
In the demo, I was able to see, that I can send an SMS, Email, run a command or program as a notification for an alarm.
Is there a facility to send a SNMP trap from each alarm from the central server with the alarm information?
Our Manager of Manager is HP Openview OPerations and Micromuse Netcool, and would like to get all the alarms from OpManager into Netcool or OPenview, since they are both tied into BMC Remedy for trouble ticketing where we have spent considerable time creating notification and escalation workflows.
If northbound SNMP traps is unavailable, then maybe there is a log file which contains all the real-time alarms on the central server that we can tail and send them northbound to Netcool using taild?
Please let me know since my mandate is to continue using the existing tools for events consolidation, deduplication, but need to look at new tools as a poller. What interests me with MSP edition, is the fact that I won't need a VPN tunnel to each customer we monitor.
