Hi,
I have installed OpManager v12 (downloaded August 10th) onto a VM in our environment for a trial.
Straight off the bat, the first thing i wanted to configure was vCenter monitoring.
We have 3 environments in this network, PROD (6 ScaleIO Nodes) - DEVTEST (8 ScaleIO Nodes) - DR (4 ScaleIO Nodes).
They are all running ESX 6.0 and are all managed by VMWare vCenter appliances (Linux Based).
When i attempt to add the PROD vCenter to the OpManager installation, it just errors out.
They are on the same network, there is no fire-walling between them, and all credentials have been tested.
i have the following credentials configured in OpManager:
* SNMP - SNMP v2 Type
* SSH (vCenter box is Linux appliance) - Linux type
* Windows Domain acct with access to VCenter - Windows type
yet i still get the useless
"Add Device Failed" error message each time i try to add the vCenter server on the "add VMWare" menu item.
It still adds the vm, knows that it is a vCenter Server Appliance, but thats the end of it.
On the server i have OpManager installed on, i can SSH to the vCenter server no problems, i have tested SNMP (using the paessler SNMP tester), i can open the webgui using either the domain account i created or the administrator@vsphere.local
I am trialing this product for a 5 datacenter implementation, with 10's of esx nodes at each site. If this integration does not work, i will need to find an alternative product.
please help! at least get back with some troubleshooting steps or something to look for. the video on your webpage is useless, it just shows adding the credentials and then it just works. that is not my reality in trialing the product.
Tim
