ServiceDesk Plus Technicians Don't Always Have to Have An Account You Know

There is sometimes a situation when you have a staff resource that needs to be notified of activities in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus but would never actually have access to login to the console directly. I'm thinking of the case of remote service engineers or perhaps  facilities management  maintenance staff. Whilst these individuals would not require, or need, a login account to ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus it would still be extremely useful if they could have some form of notification from ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus.

In these scenarios it is possible to create a legitimate Technician account in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus but simply not to enable the login for the account:

Provided the Technician account has a valid email address then the Technician will still receive all the relevant email notifications from ServiceDesk Plus. This could be useful for allocating tasks to those individuals for example, with the full task details could be contained within the notification email received by that Technician.

Please bear in mind that these Technicians cannot update the request in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus so don't overlook the fact that you will still need full Technician accounts for those overseeing the requests for these individuals in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus!

And saving the best bit until last, there is no charge for these Non Log in Technicians

Anyway this might prove useful in some situations...

Regards
