NEW FEATURE Update! Monitoring is now enabled for Amazon CloudFront and Amazon Elastic File System

We are excited to announce that Applications Manager now supports monitoring of Amazon CloudFront and Amazon Elastic File System(EFS). This enhancement underscores our commitment to providing expansive visibility into your AWS environments.

Optimizing CloudFront for Seamless Content Delivery

Amazon CloudFront is a powerful Content Delivery Network (CDN) service that accelerates the distribution of static and dynamic web content, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, and videos to users worldwide.

Monitoring CloudFront is crucial for understanding its performance, managing traffic, and ensuring efficient content delivery. With Applications Manager, uncover critical performance insights and pinpoint performance bottlenecks for your CloudFront distributions.

Applications Manager empowers you to analyze user request patterns, data transfer volumes, and caching efficiency. These insights shed light on the inner workings of your CloudFront deployments, enabling data-driven decisions for optimizing performance.

In addition to these, monitoring Amazon CloudFront via Applications Manager helps in identifying latency issues and tracking error rates. By closely monitoring these key metrics, you can identify and address potential issues before they impact users. This proactive approach ensures swift resolution and optimized content delivery for a seamless user experience.

Getting started

To set up a Amazon CloudFront monitor in Applications Manager, follow the steps given below:

Streamlining EFS monitoring

Amazon EFS is a scalable, fully managed cloud-based file storage service from Amazon Web Services (AWS), that can be accessed concurrently by multiple EC2 instances.  This means that  multiple users can share file data across applications without the need to provision or manage storage capacity and performance.

Since EFS offers a common data source which is accessible by multiple instances, monitoring the service ensures that your file systems perform optimally, remain highly available, and dynamically meet the storage needs of your instances.

Applications Manager empowers administrators to effectively monitor Amazon EFS by providing insights into critical metrics like Burst Credit Balance, Metered IO Utilization, and Time Elapsed Since Last Sync to ensure optimal performance and data consistency.

Additionally, Applications Manager provides detailed insights into File System Information, such as storage sizes across Standard, Infrequent Access, and Archive classes, allowing for optimized storage management and cost control. Monitoring Mount Targets, including their states and network details, ensures robust connectivity.

By closely surveilling Client Connections, Metered I/O usage, File I/O activity, and Metadata I/O activity, administrators can proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks. This comprehensive approach ensures the EFS service runs efficiently and reliably, enhancing overall operational efficiency and user satisfaction.
