New feature requests and issues
I sent this to the support team, but for the sake of everyone else:
We have evaluated the product and found the following issues/recommendations:
(Critical) No out of the box support for %tm_act. This is critical for monitoring AIX disks. A separate script is not acceptable as this will then count against new monitors. (Also comparable solutions provide this out of the box). This should not be an issue, as AppMan already calls iostatd, but ignores the tm_act column.
(Critical) No reporting or history view of disk-io stats
(Critical) No sorting in any of the monitor views. The MQ-monitor becomes useless, as we monitor in excess of 100+ queues. (my post: http://forums.manageengine.com/forumHome.do?forumGroupId=49000000002007&forumTopicId=49000003290646&). The same applies for EJB lists.
(Important) Improvements in URL monitoring (my post explains this: http://forums.manageengine.com/forumHome.do?forumGroupId=49000000002007&forumTopicId=49000003290660&)
(Important) No J2EE-web-transaction monitoring support for JDK1.4 / WAS 6.0 (there also seems to be no option to ask for a back-port on a professional services engagement model)
(Important) Bug in Websphere monitor where Transactions Rolled Back/Committed are displayed in ms whereas this should be a counter
(Important) Configure internal HTTP/Apache server to compress pages with mod_gzip/_deflate (currently 120-150KB of HTML going over the wire)
(Important) No monitoring of garbage-collection as part of Websphere Monitoring (PMI provides this)
(Important) No monitoring for Informix
(Important) Once a Telnet-monitor is created, I am not able to change the telnet-port. Have to delete the monitor and re-add.
(Nice-to-have) No support for Linux PPC.
