New feature in Log360 Cloud: JSON parsing support

Dear users,

We are excited to introduce advanced JSON log parsing capabilities in Log360 Cloud, enhancing flexibility and precision in log management. With this update, users can:

  • Seamlessly extract various fields from JSON logs, ensuring improved customization and analysis.

  • Extract specific fields by defining JSON paths. This capability applies to both new and existing custom log formats that support file import.

To configure JSON field extraction:

  • Provide a JSON path to target specific fields within the log.

  • Assign field names to the corresponding JSON paths to ensure accurate mapping.

  • Ensure correct reference to the key or nested structure within the JSON log for precise extraction.

Note: JSON field extraction is available exclusively for the File Import custom log format.

Configuring JSON parsing rules

Users can create JSON extraction rules through two methods:

With a sample log:

JSON parser rule creation with sample logs

  • Upload a valid JSON log.

  • Select the required fields from the displayed JSON tree.

  • Assign field names to the corresponding JSON paths.

Without a sample log:

  • Manually define JSON paths to extract required fields.

  • Ensure the JSON path accurately reflects the log structure.

Once configured, these rules will efficiently extract and map values to the corresponding fields during JSON log processing.
