Netflow plugin and Switches

We have multiple sites connected via a WAN. We use nortel 5520's and HP's which are switch/Routers.
In opmanager they are configured as switches even tho they perform routing function. My question is, can you use the netflow plugin on devices that are not under the router category?
Another issue I am having, which I have sent a support request through about is when I try to install the netflow plugin into my opmanager (9010) It tells me that I do not have the correct version of opmanager.
