Netflow exporting not being detected

Netflow exporting not being detected

Hi,

I've currently downloaded the v5 analyser and connected it up to our multiservice router (designed for Ericsson) that has netflow software running on it (derived from NetBSD codebase).

We support version 5 and 9 netflows.

When I set our output to v9, the management console detects this and complains, this proves I have connectivity between the router and the management console.

When I then change to v5, the management console never shows that it is receiving anything. When I run Ethereal I see valid v5 packets being sent to the management station.

Is there anyway of diagnosing what the Netflow Anaylser is unhappy with? I imagine that it is receiving the packets, as it did recv the v9s, so now it must be receiving the v5's but something in the packet is making it unhappy.

I have made sure that the routers time is set close to the system time, but would this cause it to entirely reject?

It would be great if there was some statistics/counters somewhere with reasons for rejection (as this connectivity problem comes up a lot in the newgroups, if the counters showed

Received Packets,
Valid Netflow Packets
Bad Versions
Bad Checksum

etc...

would be enormously helpful.

Regards,

Chris Moore
