NetFlow Analyzer can be migrated to a new server with older data and configurations with certain conditions. Given below are the steps to migrate the installation and database to a different server. In regards to the license part, please copy the license file named as "AdventNetLicense.xml" present under <NetFlow_Home>/lib folder, and save it in a safe location. Once you moved to the new server, please find the following steps to apply the license file:
1. Log in to the NetFlow Analyzer web client
2. Click License Management from Admin Operations
3. Click the Upgrade License link present in the top-right corner of the screen
4. In the License window that opens up, browse for the new license file and select it
5. Click Upgrade to apply the new license file
Note:
1. The build number of the NetFlow Analyzer should be the same on both the servers. (You can find the Build number by clicking on the 'About' link on the top right corner of the user interface)
2. Cross platform migration is not supported (eg. From Windows to Linux and vice versa)
1. Shutdown the NetFlow Analyzer.
2. Copy the "data" and "mysql" folder present in the NetFlow Analyzer installation directory (Drive_Letter:\AdventNet\ME\NetFlow\) to a safe location in the old server.
3. Install the NetFlow Analyzer on the new server with the same build number as if in the old server.
4. Start the product once and check the build number and stop the NetFlow Analyzer service on the new server.
5. Replace the "data" and "mysql" folder which was copied from the old installation to a new installation under (Drive_Letter:\AdventNet\ME\NetFlow\).
6. Start the NetFlow Analyzer service.
