Hi,
I set up MSSQL monitoring a few months ago and all (Well, not all, but many...) monitors went red, after looking at some, like database file space, I decided to wait until I have some time to set convenient threshold, since most of our databases were bigger than the defaults threshold, i thought that all the threshold had to be set according to our environement, and I didnt have time to look into it.
Now I am at this time to set those threshold and I came to a strange monitor value...
The "Login per Sec" monitor indicates an average of 4000 Logins/Sec, and this been like it for all the monitoring time (since a few monts). I was "WWAHHHHHH!!! WHATS GOING ON ?" After a bit of investigation, looking with "Perfmon" it appears that our login rate is rater an average of below 1 login per second... I tested the monitor (oid MSSQL$SQLADM.MSSQLGeneral.MSSQLLoginsPersec.SQLADM) and the value returned was :
I know these values are wrong, but I dont know where they come from. I guess its not opmanager that is the issue, but the WMI counter... Still I dont know how to find the good values. And why isnt there any post about this ? :)
