Hi,
I'm currently setting up our MSSQL monitors, wich now gives good numbers thanks to Sharavanan from support, however I meet some disappointment when I set up the alarms messages. It seem that the "$INSTANCE" variable is not available for MSSQL monitors (We have SQL Instances on our server). This is a problem since the E-Mail we get only send the name of the Device, wich is the Windows Server, and the message is something like :
| Page reads per second is 776 Reads/sec, threshold value for this monitor is 500 Reads/sec
|
It doesnt tells me wich Instance get this error...
The only workaround I found wast to set up a different message for each alarm, including the SQL Instance name, but this is not really a nice solution as setting 1 instance with the defaults monitors set up about 30 Alarms...
I checked a bit in Opmanager documentation but I did not find a place with a list of "variables" available in this field (maybe there is some "$SQLINSTANCE"...), it would be nice to have some sort of "pick up list", just like there is in "Configure Profile Details" page.
The question that I wish an answer for is : Is there a way to quickly set the MSSQL Instance name in the alarms ?
(This thread could be moved to "Propose an Idea" If there is no way to do this right now :-) )
