Monitoring Servers
Hello,
We are evaluating OpManager to use it to monitor servers that are behind a firewall across a WAN. The monitoring server in on thepublic Internet. Questions:
1. What ports do we need to open at the remote firewall to monitor the server behind it? We have already opened 161 for SNMP but the WEB and SMTP services remain down even though they are up and accessible from the outside.
2. How can we monitor an Exchange 2003 server on these servers? Are you using WMI? If so what ports do we need to open?
3. How can we monitor Veritas Backup Exec and receive noticies when jobs fail?
