Hello everyone,

I am currently working with Exchange edge servers [edge servers https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/c/servers-storage/servers/edge], and I am wondering if anyone in the community has any recommendations or best practices for monitoring these servers.

As you may know, Exchange edge servers are responsible for handling incoming and outgoing email traffic. This makes them a critical component of any Exchange infrastructure, and it is important to ensure that they are functioning properly at all times.

One potential issue with monitoring Exchange edge servers is that they often reside in a perimeter network, which can make it more difficult to monitor them using traditional monitoring tools. Additionally, Exchange edge servers may have different monitoring requirements than other Exchange servers, due to their unique role in handling email traffic.

I am currently using a combination of performance counters, event logs, and third-party monitoring tools to monitor my Exchange edge servers. However, I am not sure if these measures are enough or if there are other tools or methods I should be using to ensure that my servers are performing optimally.

I would appreciate any advice or recommendations from the community on how to properly monitor Exchange edge servers. What metrics should I be monitoring?
