monitor VMs only by Vcenter

Is it possible to monitor the use of VM server disks only with the Vcenter credential, without using operating system credentials?
I have a few servers outside of my domain and would like to monitor them, but without using local credentials, as we are facing problems with linux servers that are being monitored with local credentials.
