We use quotas on 2008/2012 file servers to keep our minions from chewing through disk space like candy.
We are comparing opmanager and two other products and we need to be able to not only monitor the partition usage but also the share usage (directories on the disk).
as an example
DISK E:
size: 2TB
then we have the following
e:\shares\Share1 (200gb quota)
e:\shares\Share2 (100gb quota)
e:\shares\Share3 (50gb quota)
e:\shares\Share4 (500gb quota)
if we monitor E: (which can only ever get to 850GB due to the quotas) we won't get alerts even thou the shared directory can reach 100% of the quota and therefor, upset the minions.
how can we monitor the individual shares based on their quota size ?
thanks in advance.
