Mobile Device Manager Plus simplifies Mac encryption using FileVault 2

FileVault 2 is a whole disk encryption program, that encrypts the hard drive and all the files available on it, using 128-bit AES encryption with a 256-bit key. If your organization stores client information, or any other sensitive corporate data on Mac machines, it is recommended to use FileVault to encrypt your systems.

While encrypting a Mac machine, FileVault mandates a password to be set on the system which will be used to decrypt the drive every time the user logs in. Additionally, a Recovery key is generated. This key has to be saved separately by the user and can be used if the password is forgotten.

With Mobile Device Manager Plus, organizations also have an option of encrypting the systems using a certificate called the Institutional Recovery key, The Institutional Recovery key is common for the entire organization and prevents the hassle of saving individual personal recovery keys.

Follow the steps given here to configure FileVault 2 encryption for your organization.
