Microsoft has rolled back two of its non-security Office patches- KB 4461522 and KB 2863821 that triggers entry point crashes in various Office 2010 products. These non-security updates were released earlier this month to comply with the changes coming in the Japanese calendar next month. 

In an update on the KB pages, Microsoft acknowledged that the updates were pulled due to the crashes in some applications and has also given a workaround.

"After you install this update, you may experience crashes in Microsoft Access or other applications. To resolve this issue, uninstall the update from the endpoints. This update is no longer available." it said.

Note: If you experience app crashes on any of the Office products after installing the patches, please remove the updates at the earliest, and wait till further update on the patches.

Steps for removal of the patches:

• In your Desktop Central console, select Patch Mgnt tab -> Patches -> Installed Patches. You can find all the patches that are installed in your endpoints. 
  

• Search for the Bulletin ID MSWU-3064 with the help of the search icon provided in the top right corner. 
  

• The patches with this bulletin ID will be listed if your endpoints have them installed.
