Hello everyone !
Microsoft has announced the retirement of Microsoft Publisher in October 2026.
Users could continue using Publisher with its existing functionality until October 1, 2026. Microsoft 365 subscribers will no longer be able to access Publisher on or shortly after October 1, 2026, as Microsoft rolls out the removal update.
For perpetual versions of Publisher, support ends on October 13, 2026, along with Office LTSC 2021 and Consumer Office 2021.
Customers using Microsoft Publisher are advised to review Microsoft’s migration guidance and make the necessary changes before the retirement takes effect.
Microsoft recommends converting existing Publisher files to supported formats such as PDF or Word, depending on whether the files need to be viewed or edited after Publisher retirement.
If Microsoft removes Publisher through a future Microsoft 365 update, the same behavior is expected when that update is deployed through ManageEngine Endpoint Central Patch Management.
Publisher may be removed or become inaccessible depending on Microsoft’s implementation of the retirement update.
Administrators are advised to identify systems using Publisher and complete any required file conversion or migration activities before deploying updates that remove access to the application.
