I have a ticket open with Desktop Central on this but haven't gotten very far with them. Out of our 470 Desktops/Laptop, only about 250 of our Desktops/Laptops are showing that they are "missing" the Meltdown/Spectre Patch. All of our Laptops and Desktops are exactly the same hardware with the same AV versions. I checked to make sure the Patch was not installed on any machines which it isn't and we have Windows Patching disabled on all computers.
I checked to see if the reg key below was on any of our machines but it is not. Does this key need to be added before patching or for desktop central to see that the patch is missing and applicable? If that is the case, why did the patch show up for the 250 machines that did not have the reg key installed?
Key="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"Subkey="SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\QualityCompat"
Value Name="cadca5fe-87d3-4b96-b7fb-a231484277cc"
Type="REG_DWORD”
Data="0x00000000”
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this issue or not but I would really like to start testing this patch.
Dekstops are Lenovo M900 with Windows 10
Laptops are T460s with Windows 10
AV is Trend Micro.
