I searched your forums for this issue and found
https://forums.manageengine.com/topic/merged-requests-disappear which relates to Service Desk Plus (on site install).
It states that there was a patch for it back in 2013.
In our case we are using your Service Desk Plus On Demand service and the same thing happens when we merge a request with another, the child requests are deleted completely and cannot be found when searched at all. This causes a problem when someone references a previous request # that they submitted and when you go search for it, you cannot find it and thus you cannot even find which request it was merged to get to the most current request.
The above situation relates to when one user has multiple requests in the system for the same issue due to separate emails being sent in or replying to previous service desk emails that have a link to a previous request # that is now deleted(merged) which results in a new request being created.
For when multiple users submit requests that are all related to the same issue, we link all "duplicate" requests for that issue to the first request that was in submitted.
Is there a way to be able to search previously merged requests?
Anyone else having this issue or can shed some light on how to deal with this.
Thanks
Mike
