It appears that, since the introduction of macOS Big Sur, Apple have had a paradigm shift in the way patching of macOS behaves and can be managed. It appears that ManageEngine have dropped the ball on this event quite spectacularly. No comment or response from the product team. No documentation or, it would appear, even awareness in the support team, that this change has happened. The sum total of the response, from ME appears to have been to release two patches. One to turn updates on and one to turn updates off. These updates simply state “Contact Support For Steps”. However, when we contact support, they appear to be totally ignorant of this change and what these "steps" are.
ME/DC cannot ever expect to be taken seriously as a multi-platform/heterogeneous infrastructure management platform if they are capable of dropping balls so spectacularly as this, for their number two supported platform in their product!
