I combed through the documentation and found that licensing can be renewed by renewing a contract.  We have numerous systems where we've added licensing over the years.  The expiration for the new licenses is annual based on the purchase of those licenses.  So I'd need a contract for each time we've purchased an additional license (we have one with about 50 different dates).  Am I stuck with either creating a contract for every license or manually modifying the start/expire date of each license?  Additional info... these are user licenses so we need to tie them to a user, not an asset.
