ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer 4 - Build 4002

Dear All,

We are happy to announce the availability of ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer 4 - Build 4002.

The Feature Additions to this build are as follows :

>> Global "Search" in the product.
>> Desktop Tray Icon for Windows.
>> Automatic web-client connection, using the default browser, once the server has been started.
>> FTP Utility added in Support tab, to send the support information file.
>> Supports event log analysis of : HP-UX, Cisco Switches and Routers.
>> Compliance Alerts added in the Add Alert profile page.
>> Object Access and System Events reports are shown under HIPAA and SOX compliance.

The Bug Fixes that went in for this build are :

>> Log collection stops for windows machines after running continuously for 3-4 days.
>> Log collection will not be performed if the admin password contains '0' even after getting successfully connected in 'Verify Login'.
>> '\n' character is shown in the complete details report page.
>> The tooltip "Enable/Disable Alert" is generic for both enabled and disabled state of an alert.
>> UserName not shown next to logout link at the top
>> Successful User Logoff details are shown in Failed Logons under Compliance reports.
>> Predefined alerts not working for windows hosts
>> In the alert profiles list, system is displayed instead of security under logtype.
>> Horizontal scroll occurs in the reports page with more number of hosts.
>> Event Count mismatch occurs for a host between Total Events Per Host Group graph and Hosts table if more than one report is created for that host.
>> Alert profile creation cannot be done without entering the 'Log Message contains' string if 'Any' is selected under Log Type.
>> When an IP Address is given instead of machine name, then the host name should be resolved and added in the database
>> Out Of Memory Error occurs in the report page if report is created for more number of hosts.
>> Admin user was not able to delete the reports created by other users.
>> Mail notification fails when the configured alert is generated.

Limitations

>> EventLog Analyzer installed on a UNIX machine, cannot collect event logs from Windows hosts.
>> If EventLog Analyzer is installed on a "Windows 2003 with SP1" machine, you may face issues with EventLog Analyzer login. This is due to a bug that has been identified in MySQL, the details of this bug is available here. As of this moment MySQL AB has not released a patch for this issue. Work around is to use mysqld-debug.exe instead of mysqld-nt.exe. Please note, there is a 20% drop in performance by using mysqld-debug.exe over mysqld-nt.exe. So in the larger interest of our user community we would recommend that our users refrain from installing EventLog Analyzer on a "Windows 2003 with SP1" machine.

If you still insist on running EventLog Analyzer on "Windows 2003 with SP1" machine, please feel free to contact support@eventloganalyzer.com for steps to apply this mysqld-debug.exe workaround.
